SHAWN ROBERTSON

In Tarkio’s own backyard, Missoula, Montana, Shawn caught our attention as a excited 20 year old with a smooth paddling style and humble demeanor. Since then, his paddling explorations have led him all over the Northwest, Alaska, British Columbia, South America, and just recently Nepal and India. Shawn’s enthusiasm to become a world- class educator has rewarded him, and his students, with a wealth of knowledge and teaching skills. Students appreciate his patient and caring instructional style, while getting a dose of the big picture approach to kayaking. For Shawn, running rivers is much more than just a way to pass the time, it’s a window into learning how to enjoy everything life has to offer. Shawn’s also an avid photographer and loves capturing the amazing moments we all share on every Tarkio adventure.
