JOHNNIE KERN

An expedition paddler who has logged first descents in the United States, Europe, and South America, Johnnie’s name is synonymous with kayak exploration. When he is not searching out new rivers, Johnnie enjoys sharing his kayaking expertise with aspiring paddlers. His thoughtful teaching style and calm demeanor combined make Johnnie a reassuring and encouraging presence on the river. He recently married his college sweetheart, Brooke and is currently living in Berkeley, CA designing and developing equipment for The North Face.
